WHAT CAN YOUR MASK FILTER OUT?
Equipped with advanced electrostatic microfiber and active carbon filtration technology, the Airinum Urban Air Mask is designed as filtering half masks to protect against the following particles:
- Air Pollutants (Including PM10, PM2.5)
The Airinum Urban Air Mask is KN95 certified, similar to the American N95 and European FFP2 certifications. KN95 is an industry standard and means that the mask provides the intended effectiveness of filtering 95 percent of particles with a mass median diameter of 0.3 micrometers. Therefore, our mask can protect you well from PM10, PM2.5, and even smaller particles.
- Pollen
The Airinum Urban Air Mask can protect you from pollen. Our filter has an efficiency of above 95% at 0,3 μm particle size, whereas normal pollen particles are about 10 - 1000 μm in size.
- Bacteria and Viruses
The Airanium Urban Air Mask can help reduce exposure to biological substances, such as bacteria and viruses. Please note however that wearing a mask cannot eliminate the risk of infection as it depends on the proper fit of the wearer. The Airanium Urban Air Mask is not designed for clinical environments, such as hospitals or dentist offices.
- Smog
The active carbon layer in our filter can help reduce the particles and chemicals in smog.
- Automobile exhaust and smoke
The active carbon layer in our filter deodorizes the air and can help reduce automobile exhaust in your surrounding air.
- Odor and fragrance
The active carbon layer in our filter deodorizes the air and can help reduce odors and fragrances in your surrounding air.
- Animal Allergens
The Airanium Urban Air Mask can protect you from animal allergens. Our filter has an efficiency of above 95% at 0,3 μm particle size, whereas normal animal allergen particles are about 5 - 10 μm in size.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE EFFECTIVENESS DEPENDS ON A PROPER FIT AND THE ACTUAL WEARAGE OF THE MASK.
WHAT FILTRATION TECHNOLOGIES DO YOU USE?
There are two common technologies used in filters today. One is the mechanical filtration, i.e. the filter is tightly woven so that particles get stuck in it; and the static filtration, i.e. the particles get attracted by charged material. Our filter utilizes both technologies to achieve a good balance between breathability and filter efficiency.
WHAT MATERIAL DO YOU USE FOR THE FILTER?
We use three layers in the filter to provide high protection while maintaining breathability: 1 active carbon layer and 2 electro charged meltblown microfiber. The filtration layers are wrapped in skin-friendly polypropylene material.
CAN A PERSON WITH MCS (MULTIPLE CHEMICAL SENSITIVITY) USE YOUR MASK?
Unfortunately, our mask is not tested for chemical sensitivities and we cannot guarantee that you will be able to use the mask without any symptoms at this stage.
HOW SHOULD I STORE THE MASK?
When you are not using the mask, please keep it in the storage bag that is provided in our package to keep it hygienic. The mask should not be exposed to extreme heat, sunlight or humid environment.
HOW LONG CAN I USE ONE MASK SKIN?
Since your mask skin is washable, you can use it as long as you want.
CAN I WASH THE MASK SKIN?
Yes, you can wash the mask skin by hand with soap or in the laundry machine under hand-wash mode and hang dry. Please make sure to not tumble dry the mask skin and to detach the filter and the valves before washing. Do not store it in a bag unless fully dried.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE MASK FOGS MY GLASSES?
Make sure the side up is the side with the nose foam and form the nose foam carefully on the gaps between the nose bridge and the cheeks. When fitted properly, the exhaled air shall go through the exhalation valves and you should have no issues anymore with fog on your glasses.
IS IT NORMAL TO FEEL RESISTANCE WHEN INHALING THROUGH A MASK?
Yes, there is breathing resistance in any particle filtering face mask with high efficiency. For most people, once you are not thinking about it, the resistance is not an issue.
WHY IS YOUR MASK UNIQUE?

1) Protection. People that know this industry also know that the big determining factor to if a mask will protect you well is fit and filtration in combination. Air takes the easiest way to your lungs, so fit is most important, and second filtration efficiency. Our mask, therefore, developed and designed to fit most types of faces. It also has an adjustable nose-clip and a 3d memory nose foam to decrease leakage. Finally, it uses a triple filter technology tested in one of the world's most advanced laboratories.
2) Comfort. If you've tested a couple of masks you know that if it isn't easy to breathe in them, you won't use them after some time. Our mask, therefore, uses an innovative exhalation valve developed and designed to act as a ventilation system for the mask - removing moist, heat and carbon dioxide. Another big thing when it comes to masks is how comfortable it is to actually wear them for the long-term. This is why our mask is adjustable and equipped with an extra head strap. Together this gives a better fit while still decreasing the pressure on your ears. it also has a changeable filter system so that you can wash the outside and plug in new filters to stay hygienic.
3) Design. In our opinion, design does not need to compromise functionality. The urban air mask is therefore designed to last. It’s reusable modern design makes it stay an everyday lifestyle accessory just as long as any other item in your wardrobe.
